It was a great Monday at the Black Hills Stock Show with our chapter and many other area schools! The Newell Irrigator Wrestlers faced some of the toughest competition they have seen all year. The Belle Fourche wrestling meet had many state ranked qualifiers competing over 2 days. Our athletes put up valiant fights, but only Dyson made it into the placing rounds. There 19 teams total and very large brackets. Dyson used his knowledge and determination to earn 3rd place. Newell should be really proud of the the effort they put forth and the sportsmanship they show on and off the mat. Newell’s only meet is this Tuesday in Austin Auditorium. They would love to see you there.

We cheer on our students entering the welding competition, an annual event hosted by Western Dakota Tech . Kids from area schools compete for prizes with the winner receiving the Build Dakota scholarship to attend WDT for welding. The Build Dakota Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship offered to SD students who qualify and want to pursue a high-need labor area in SD!
The Newell Irrigator Wrestling Team went to Lemmon Tuesday. There were 13 teams. Dyson added another first place win this year. Bodie also manhandled his way into 1st place. Will wrestled his way into 3rd. They all showed some great skills. Their next meet is in Belle this Friday and Saturday. Their only home meet is February 4th.
The bulletin boards in the school cafeteria are incredibly inspiring.
