The Newell School District is still looking for the following coaching positions. Asst. MS Girls Basketball and Head MS Wrestling, they both start on October 21st. If you are interested in one of the position please call the school at 456-2393.
The 11th Annual Walk to School day is Oct. 2, 2019 in support of Safe Routes To School. Bus drivers will dropped students off at the North Park and walk with the students to the School. The local Department of Transportation personnel will be present at both cross walks in front of the school to help students cross the highway safely to the school. They will be at the Cross Walks from 7:15 am to 8:00 am. Each student that walks to school will be given a incentive by the DOT. Newell is one of six SD communities registered as Walking!
LMC Cross Country Meet schedule for today (September 30) in Lemmon has been Postpone to October 8th at 11:00 am.

At the September board meeting, the board received a Gold Level Board plaque from ASBSD's ALL (Act, Learn, Lead) Program. Newell's School Board accumulated 710 points during the past year. The total point accumulation places them in the #9 rank among the other 148 South Dakota School Districts in ALL points.
