The Newell 6th/7th graders and a few high schoolers learned to ski at Terry Peak today. Our students showed their tenacity when learning to ski. They never gave up and everyone was able to figure it out. They were not excited when our time to ski came to an end. The students earned their trip by raising their state testing scores in ELA, math, and science by a significant margin last school year. Our scores soared in grades 5-8 last year. Our ELA scores were higher than the state average and we were really close in math. The 8th graders, 9th graders and some high schoolers will have their ski day Match 11th. Thank you to our chaperones and the Terry Peak Ski Instructors who did a great job helping our students learn to ski. I appreciate Mr, Larson, Mrs. McCann, and Mrs. Raisanen taking the time to come to Terry Peak today. Here are some pictures of our day.
