Newell School District had water pipes break over Christmas break. Currently, all the pipes are fixed and water is running in all buildings. We have cleaned all of the standing water from the hallways and classrooms. Currently, we are drying the sheetrock and flooring for our school. Sheetrock and flooring that can not be dried will be removed for the safety of our students and staff. We are still planning on starting school for the second semester on Tuesday January 3rd.
The newell wrestlers went to the Harding County Invitational yesterday.

Kindergarten readiness tip

The Newell School District will be going with an early release Wednesday December 21st at 1:30 PM. No PM preschool today.
Also, we will not have school on Thursday, December 22nd. School day will be made up second semester.

There will be no 8th grade GBB tourney in Newell on Saturday, and the 7th grade GBB will not be going to Hill City.
Girls basketball in Kadoka scheduled for Friday, December 16th, has been postponed to a later date.
