It has come to my attention there is misinformation concerning high school attendance during the study period/Drive-Time period of the day. This time is an official part of our school day. Attendance is taken during this period. The state law concerning school attendance does cover all attendance periods of the day.
SDCL 13-27-11. Failure to send child to school as misdemeanor. Any person having control of a child of compulsory school age who fails to have the child attend school as required by the provisions of this title, is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor for the first offense. For each subsequent offense, a violator of this section is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
The boys and girls state placing cross country teams will be presented their banners during half time of the boys basketball game vs Sundance, January 9. The JV game starts at 5:30.

The cost of the test will be $45.50. Any student wishing to take the test at Newell School must let Mrs. Dutt know they are interested by Feb. 10, 2020. The fee must be paid to the school by Feb. 10. If the fee is not paid by Feb. 10, 2020 at 4 PM, the student will not be enrolled to take the test at Newell School. No exceptions.
